As Senior Advisor, BTCSI, Marcia Woolridge-Allwood is responsible for supervising Bermuda’s banks, deposit companies, trust and investment businesses, investment funds, fund administrators, corporate service providers, money service businesses, credit union and Bermuda Stock Exchange.
Mrs. Woolridge-Allwood joined the Authority in 1986, serving as Manager, Exchange Control. In 1990, she was promoted to Deputy General Manager, where she oversaw the Corporate and Administrative Divisions. After a two-year training secondment in the Supervisory and Regulatory Departments of the Financial Services Authority in London, Mrs. Woolridge-Allwood returned to the Authority as Deputy Director, Banking, Trust and Investment. In this capacity, she chaired the Authority’s internal Assessment and Licensing Committee, and represented the BMA at international regulatory meetings. Mrs. Wooldridge-Allwood, in 2004, was appointed Director of Corporate & Financial Services and then, in 2011, became Director, Banking, Trust and Investment. In 2017, She was promoted to Managing Director, Supervision, Banking, Trust, Corporate Services and Investment (BTCSI) and was, in 2018, appointed to her current role as Senior Advisor, BTCSI.
Prior to joining the BMA, Mrs. Woolridge-Allwood worked in Canada’s banking industry and as a Licensing and Insolvencies Division Technical Officer at Bermuda’s Registrar of Companies.
