Community and Culture

We Care

about our community.

At the BMA, we care about our colleagues and the impact of our actions on the organisation and Bermuda. We pride ourselves on having compassion for each other and for our community.

Caring about each other inspires us to treat everyone as they would want to be treated. At the BMA, we understand how our actions impact each other and embrace the diverse contributions of our colleagues. This builds trust, inclusiveness and belonging, fostering an organisation that fully embraces community.

Each year, the BMA has had the opportunity to partner with a diverse group of community-serving organisations. This has allowed us to make an impact across the island and different causes—from health-focused initiatives and ageing populations to environmental efforts and food insecurity causes.

In 2022, the BMA introduced its first Annual Community Day. As part of this initiative, we select projects where collective action by our staff can make a meaningful and sustainable difference in the community. This approach gives us the opportunity to work closely with community-serving organisations that align with our BMA values and the impacts and causes that our staff care about the most.

We continue to work closely with our staff to refine the Authority’s philanthropic activity model—empowering employees with an opportunity to connect to the BMA values.
